ENROLLMENT

Enrollment of new research groups
DASCDOC invites all Danish research groups in public institutions and companies engaged in stem cell research and development of related technologies to enroll as DASCDOC partners.
Research groups should apply to the head of DASCDOC, professor Jens Zimmer, by sending a CV of the head of the research group, a description of the aims and activities of the research group, and a list of relevant publications.
DASCDOC members can apply for national and international PhD-stipends through DASCDOC and get discount rates when participating in DASCDOC activities.

New PhD students
Only universities can grant the PhD degree. Conduction of a PhD study at the Doctoral School accordingly requires formal enrollment as a PhD student at a university. The Doctoral School has so far collaborative agreements for enrollment of PhD students and course activities with the following 5 faculties/universities

Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, www.sdu.dk/health
Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, www.sund.ku.dk
Faculty of Health Sciences, Aarhus University, www.health.au.dk
Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen www.life.ku.dk
Faculty of Helath Sciences and Technology, Aalborg University, www.ist.auc.dk

Collaborative agreements will be made with other faculties when needed.

Practical procedure
Enrollment procedures differ between the Danish universities and faculties. The first step is to define and describe the research project of the study together with one or two supervisors.
Candidates who want to perform a PhD study on stem cells or related areas and technologies, and who have not been in contact with a member of the Doctoral School national board or faculty or one of the associated research groups should contact secretary Bodil Theilade, btheilade@health.sdu.dk for information on how to get a supervisor in the specific field of interest and defining a project (Check also PhD projects).
Candidates for PhD studies who are in contact with one or more members of the DASCDOC faculty should ask for information at their respective faculties or contact DASCDOC secretary Bodil Theilade about deadlines for enrollment at the faculties and how to enroll and possibly get a stipend through DASCDOC.

PhD students already performing a study on stem cell or related topics
PhD students doing stem cell research but not registered as associated with DASCDOC through one of the DASCDOC associated research groups, should submit a Letter of interest to DASCDOC (att. secretary Bodil Theilade), including: 1) Title and brief description of PhD project, current status and time and place of enrollment as PhD-student, 2) Letter from supervisor(s) confirming interest of joining DASCDOC 3) List of PhD courses already attended, 4) Research contacts to other national and international groups.
